Maxillofacial surgery is a synthetic specialty that combines therapeutic and surgical methods from surgery, dentistry, neurosurgery, ENT, ophthalmology, and plastic surgery.

The clinic's team consists of clinicians with many years of experience in the specialty and in diseases of the head and neck.

Salivary gland neoplasms are one of the most challenging aspects of diagnostic pathology and surgical treatment in the head and neck region. These are rare tumors, often exhibiting a striking array of different morphological characteristics.

Neoplasms of the salivary glands, both benign and malignant, are relatively rare. The most common benign tumors include pleomorphic adenoma and papillary cystadenolymphoma. Among the most common malignant neoplasms of the salivary glands are mucoepidermoid carcinoma and adenoid cystic carcinoma.

Symptoms and characteristics: Most large neoplasms of the salivary glands arise as a slowly enlarging painless mass in an otherwise normal-appearing gland. Small salivary gland tumors vary in presentation, with the most common manifestation being painless masses on the palate or floor of the mouth. Pain can be a feature of both benign and malignant salivary gland tumors. Pain, numbness, and nerve paralysis may be characteristic of adenoid cystic carcinoma due to its nature of infiltrating around the nerves.

Plastic and reconstructive surgery of the face

Facial plastic surgery is associated with both improving a person's appearance and reconstructing defects in the tissues of the face and body due to disease, trauma, or congenital disorders. Plastic surgery restores and improves function and appearance.

Scar revision is a treatment to reduce the appearance of scars that remain on your skin after wounds have healed. Scar revision can take several forms, ranging from creams that you apply to your skin to surgery.

The goal of these procedures is to help your scar match the color and texture of the skin around it. But it won't totally get rid of your scar. Scar revision is usually cosmetic, but sometimes severe scars are painful or interfere with your body's functioning. These scars need medical treatment and sometimes surgical treatment.

Treatment of burns and post-traumatic conditions

Burns caused by thermal, chemical, or electrical sources are among the most common types of injuries, and fortunately, most burns are minor. Most of these minor burns are treated at home without visiting a medical professional, while a smaller number are treated in emergency rooms. Whatever the cause of the burn, many burns result in burn scars, which can have both functional and aesthetic consequences. Common symptoms experienced by burn scars include itching and tightness, which can limit joint movement, especially if the scar crosses a joint, and discomfort. Burn scars can also be unsightly and a significant source of psychological stress, which in itself can impair daily activities. Burn scars may appear darker or lighter than the surrounding tissue, raised above the surrounding skin, or indented. Burn scars often have a smoother texture and can be easily irritated by extreme temperatures or minor trauma.

Early treatment of burn scars aims to reduce the size of the scars, lessen the impact of functional symptoms, and improve cosmetic appearance.

The clinic has innovative equipment and experience in the field.

Oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery

Oculoplastic and orbital surgeryIt is facial surgery focused on the structures around the eye, including the eyelids, orbit (eyeball bones), lacrimal system (tear ducts), forehead, and midface.

Procedures in the field of aesthetic medicine are developing at an impressive rate thanks to some of the latest technological advances. This includes laser surgery and skin rejuvenation, advanced periorbital and mid-face procedures, innovative devices for improved soft tissue fixation, the use of botulinum toxin, as well as the latest developments in injectable agents for volume augmentation and correction of facial soft tissues.

In many cases, this area is affected by oncological processes and post-traumatic changes requiring reconstructive procedures and complex surgical manipulations. The clinic's team has extensive and long-standing experience in the treatment of such cancerous diseases.

Blepharoplasty

The periorbital area and eyelids are the first to react to the body's physiological processes. Over time, the skin becomes loose, dark circles and bags appear, and the eyes look tired.

With age and due to the thin skin of the eyelids, a skin fold often forms in their upper part, and fat pockets in their lower part. This can make the face look tired and affect vision. Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat deposits from the eyelids. There are upper and lower blepharoplasty procedures, with the lower one being performed with an incision under the eyelashes or through the conjunctiva. The procedure is selected according to individual needs and can be combined with other facial surgeries.

Oncological surgery

Skin cancer is one of the most preventable types of cancer. The main risk factor, exposure to UV rays, can be minimized by changing our attitude toward the sun.

Wearing protective clothing, avoiding direct sunlight between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in summer (when UV radiation is strongest), seeking shade, and regularly applying sunscreen are the main ways to protect yourself from UV rays.

Primary prevention consists of preventing the development of the disease before it occurs and mainly involves limiting exposure to UV.

Secondary prevention involves detecting skin cancer in its earliest stages so that it can be treated successfully. This means performing regular self-examinations, knowing your own risk factors, and visiting a specialist regularly for skin checks.
